What a great pride it was for me to be Installed as Right Worshipful Master of this Ancient and Honourable Lodge of Free and Accepted Freemasons. I thank the Brethren of the Lodge for electing me to this Office and trust that we will have an enjoyable and successful term in Office.

This Lodge was founded on 2nd February 1829, by local men in Kinross, among whom were lawyers, doctors, surgeons, men of the cloth, bankers and other well to do people including one of the best known Botanists of his time. Some eight months before the Rainhill Trials were held in England to find a steam locomotive to revolutionise world transport, when Stephenson’s Rocket became probably the most famous railway engine in the world.

Masonry is spread over the four quarters of the world with members of all creeds and colours. The Grand Lodge of Scotland our governing body has Sister Lodges all over Europe, Canada, Australia, Africa, and the United States of America among others. This Lodge’s immediate superior is the Provincial Grand Lodge of Fife and Kinross which also looks after a further 48 Lodges, making a total of 49 in all.
